Preview: Jewels Book by Angela Mary Piraino
Preface to Fingerprints
Think about your legacy
Even when you're young
It's never too early
For our solo song to be sung
With a bleeding heart
Before we part
As many people
As many legacies
Fingerprints
You Can’t Tell
Your Legacy
You can’t tell the African from the European,
the Asian from the Colombian,
Haitian from Jamaican.
You can’t tell the doctor from the patient,
the rich from the poor,
educated from ignorant.
You can’t tell the principal from the student,
the Christian from the Muslim,
Jew from Arab.
You can’t tell the policeman from the criminal,
the male from the female,
U.S. Army General from soldier.
YOU CAN TELL
we are all part of humanity
and we question:
“What imprint will we make on our world?”
